First Reading
A reading from the prophet Zephaniah
3:9-10, 14-20Yes, I will then give the peoples lips that are clean, so that all may invoke the name of Yahweh and serve him under the same yoke. From beyond the banks of the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants will bring me offerings.Shout for joy, daughter of Zion, Israel, shout aloud! Rejoice, exult with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem! Yahweh has repealed your sentence; he has driven your enemies away. Yahweh, the king of Israel, is in your midst; you have no more evil to fear. When that day comes, word will come to Jerusalem: Zion, have no fear, do not let your hands fall limp. Yahweh your God is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exult with joy over you, he will renew you by his love; he will dance with shouts of joy for you as on a day of festival.Return of the exiles I have taken away your misfortune, no longer need you bear the disgrace of it. I am taking action here and now against your oppressors. When that time comes I will rescue the lame, and gather the strays, and I will win them praise and renown when I restore their fortunes. When that time comes, I will be your guide, when that time comes, I will gather you in; I will give you praise and renown among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes under your own eyes, says Yahweh.Lector

Second Reading
A reading from the first letter of St Paul to the Corinthians
9:16-19, 22-23I do not boast of preaching the gospel, since it is a duty which has been laid on me; I should be punished if I did not preach it! If I had chosen this work myself, I might have been paid for it, but as I have not, it is a responsibility which has been put into my hands. Do you know what my reward is? It is this: in my preaching, to be able to offer the Good News free, and not insist on the rights which the gospel gives me.So though I am not a slave of any man I have made myself the slave of everyone so as to win as many as I could. For the weak I made myself weak: I made myself all things to all men in order to save some at any cost; and I still do this, for the sake of the gospel, to have a share in its blessings.Lector

With no hope of reward, nor seeking gain,
your praises we will sing.
Not to escape hell’s fire, nor to win heaven’s grace,
but because you loved us, Lord.Chorus

let every heart sing out with joy.
You are the one, we’ve come to love more and more,

upon the cross of love.
The nails, the spear, the pain, you endured the disgrace,
all because you loved us, Lord.Chorus

let every heart sing out with joy.
You are the one, we’ve come to love more and more,
all because you loved us, Lord.Verse 3

your footsteps we will follow.
You suffered torment and grief, conquered death itself,
all because you loved us, Lord.Final Chorus
You are our God, you are our King,
let every heart sing out with joy.
You are the one, we’ve come to love more and more,
all because you loved us, Lord,
