Glory in the Cross
Verse 1
Let us ever glory in the cross of Christ
our salvation and our hope.
Let us bow in homage to the Lord of Life
who was broken to make us whole. There is no greater love,
as blessed as this:
to lay down one's life for a friend.Let us ever glory in the cross of Christ
and the triumph of God's great love.Verse 2
Let us ever glory in the cross of Christ
who is risen from the grave.
He will come in glory to receive our hearts
at the dawn of the lasting day.For the trumpet will sound,
the dead shall be raised,
and death shall defeat us no more.Let us ever glory in the cross of Christ
and the triumph of God's great love.Verse 3
Let us raise our voices to the cross of Christ
where the earth and heaven unite.
God has wed creation on the tree of hope
where the darkness becomes our light.Let us join in the dance
of heaven and earth,
give thanks for the goodness of God.Let us ever glory in the cross of Christ
and the triumph of God's great love.
Responsorial Psalm
Response
Never forget the deeds of the Lord.Give heed, my people, to my teaching;
turn your ear to the words of my mouth.
I will open my mouth in a parable
and reveal hidden lessons of the past.Response
Never forget the deeds of the Lord. When he slew them then they would seek him,
return and seek him in earnest.
They would remember that God was their rock,
God the Most High their redeemer.Response
Never forget the deeds of the Lord.But the words they spoke were mere flattery;
they lied to him with their lips.
For their hearts were not truly with him;
they were not faithful to his covenant.Response
Never forget the deeds of the Lord.Yet he who is full of compassion
forgave them their sin and spared them.
So often he held back his anger
when he might have stirred up his rage.Response
Never forget the deeds of the Lord.

O MIghty Cross
Verse 1
O mighty cross,
Love lifted high
The Lord of life
raised there to die
His sacrifice on Calvary
Has made the mighty cross
a tree of life to meVerse 2
O mighty cross,
what throne of grace
He knew no sin,
yet took my place
His sacrifice on Calvary
Has made the mighty cross
a tree of life to meVerse 3
O mighty cross,
O Christ so pure
Love held Him there,
such shame endured
His sacrifice on Calvary
Has made the mighty cross
a tree of life to meVerse 4
O mighty cross,
my soul’s release,
The stripes He bore,
have brought me peace
His sacrifice on Calvary
Has made the mighty cross
a tree of life to me
Hymn for Communion Procession
Your Only Son
Verse 1
Your only Son,
no sin to hide,
but you have sent
him from your side
to walk upon
this guilty sod,
and to become the Lamb of GodChorus
O Lamb of God
sweet Lamb of God;
I love the holy Lamb of God.
O wash me in
his precious blood
My Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.Verse 2
Your gift of love
they crucified,
they laughed and scorned
him as he died;
the humble King
they named a fraud,
and sacrificed the Lamb of God.Chorus
O Lamb of God
sweet Lamb of God;
I love the holy Lamb of God.
O wash me in
his precious blood
My Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.Verse 3
I was so lost
I should have died,
but you have brought
me to your side
to be led by
your staff and rod,
and to be called a Lamb of God.Chorus
O Lamb of God
sweet Lamb of God;
I love the holy Lamb of God.
O wash me in
his precious blood
My Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.
Recessional Hymn
Old Rugged Cross
Verse 1
On a hill far away,
stood an old rugged cross,
the emblem of suffering and shameAnd I love that old cross
where the dearest and best,
for a world of lost sinners was slain.Chorus
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
till my trophies at last I lay down:
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it some day for a crown.Verse 2
O that old rugged cross,
so despised by the world,
has a wondrous attraction for me;for the dear Lamb of God
left his glory above
to bear it to dark Calvary.Chorus
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
till my trophies at last I lay down:
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it some day for a crown.Verse 3
In that old rugged cross,
stained with blood so divine,
a wondrous beauty I see,for 'twas on that old cross
Jesus suffered and died,
to pardon and sanctify me.Chorus
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
till my trophies at last I lay down:
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it some day for a crown.Verse 4
To that old rugged cross
I will ever be true,
its shame and reproach gladly bear;then he'll call me some day
to my home far away,
where his glory forever I'll share.Chorus
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
till my trophies at last I lay down:
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it some day for a crown.
